sonja : Hi Gmelroy and welcome to the chat! What you are going to do first is three days of PP to restart your weight loss. Then keep exercising everyday and do not eat any tolerated at all for about four days. Just remember that these extra days of PP have been given to you according to a very specific situation and cannot be done by your own decision. Also please send an email to my colleagues via the email section of your slimming apartment with a detailed menu of what you have been eating and drinking during these past three days please including snacks and meals. sjb1961 : Right - you advised this morning that ham was fine but not smoked or flavoured ham - I didnt have smoked or flavoured ham but you call it a lapse! What made you think it was flavoured / smoked?? Sorry I am just getting used to the site so maybe I am doing something wrong? I also entered my weight as I am pleased I lost 3lbs yet the weight curve shows it has gone up. Feel motivated by the loss but would like to see the curve come down
sonja : Hi Sjb! I'm sorry if I misunderstand something but have you clicked on the lapses section saying that you have eaten some "forbidden" ham? If yes this why this is appearing in your daily report. For your weight, you have to fill it in everyday but mistakes can happen don't worry. Write to my colleagues via the email section of your slimming apartment with your correct weight and they will modify it no problem. Keep going!

sonja : Hi Cmcavoy and welcome to the chat! Don't worry as such kind of things can happen at one point of your diet. Then there is always an explanation and a solution. I could actually see that you have done a lapses a few days ago and this definitely influence your weight loss. You have to focus on your diet and on allowed food to be able to lose weight correctly. What you are going to do is to increase your physical activity and do not eat any tolerated at all for about three days. Of course no more lapses and I'm sure that you will have good news for us in a few days!

sonja : Hi Zwerfi! On your PP Only Thursdays you have to focus on proteins only with your daily oat bran intake that's all. Losing a bit of weight on Consolidation can happen and that means that you have a very good metabolism. If you really go under your true weight in that case please let us know and we will advice you in consequence. Have a very nice evening!
Elenhaf : I have been prescribed strong painkillers which will also cause constipation. To combat this I Have also been advised to take lactulose. Is this ok?

Blakey69 : Hi there I have a concern about my weight loss since the 11th February. Since this time i have been unable to go below 60.4 kgs. I'm following the diet but cannot loose any more weight. sonja : Hi Blakey! Actually I could see that you have done quite a lot of lapses since the beginning of your diet and this definitely influence your weight loss. To be honest with you it's going to be harder to break this plateau but don't worry I'm sure that you will make it. What you are going to do first is two days of PP in a row and do really increase your physical activity. Do not eat any tolerated at all for four days and really focus on your programme. It's going to be a bit hard at the beginning as your body is now used to get all the food it likes but be strong and I'm sure that you will have good news for us in a few days. Have a nice evening!

sonja : Hi again Elen! Yes tea and coffee as well as diet soda count to the 1.5-2 litres of your daily fluids intake. Keep going!
kazcr1971 : Hi, could I possibly be not eating enough to lose weight? I am never hungry and seem to be eating very little throughout day! yesterday did no snacking at all. I seem to lose 1 lb then 3 days staying the same. I am eating Nothing that i shouldnt. feeling Im never going to get there at this rate I have stones to lose. I am doing exercise too thank you
sonja : Hi Kaz! You have to eat until you feel satisfied plenty of allowed food especially proteins to be able to lose weight correctly. Also as you might suffer from a bit of water retention try to avoid salty food and do not drink more than 1.5 litres of fluids per day (preferably green tea and water). You can also ask to your pharmacist for some drainers, that can help. Be strong, no matter the time it will take you will reach your true weight!
Mayafidawi : Hi Dr. "Dukan and staff, this is day 11 in my cruise phase, in fact I have entered a wrong weight when I first registered, it was actually 78, and I'm now 75kg so I have lost 3kg so far..but one thing, what about lentils? I believe they consist of pure proteins.. Can I boil some and have them with lemon and garlic? I wil be starting a daily workout at the gym by the end of this month, thank you for your cooperation and care, I really am enjoying my diet and every second of it, its total fun... :)

sonja : Hi Galina and congratulations on your physical activity! Actually what you can do is when you go to this programme to fill in your daily report as if you have done all your obliged programme and the optional one. Keep moving!
lindamarriott : I am on the cruise phase. Can I eat low fat greek style yogurt, the brand I have is unsweetened but sugars do appear in the nutrition guide. Fat content is 2.7g per 100g
sonja : Hi Linda! Yes no problem you can have some low fat yogurt (no more than 2% fat) as a part of your one kilo of dairies intake per day as long as they don't contain any added sugar. The sugar content you see is called lactose and this sugar naturally coming from milk. Your Greek yogurts sound a bit fatty though to be allowed I'm sorry. Keep going!
H0mkers : It would seem a lot of people, myself included, are having difficulty finding fat free yogurt which also has no sugar added. I know it's awkward to give brands, but it really would be helpful or to put a 'shout out' so dukanians can say the brands they use. I'm in hong kong where dairy is difficult at the best of times.
sonja : Hi Homkers! Actually it mustn't contain any added sugar such as glucose, fructose, corn starch syrup etc.... Also if you cannot find fat free ones then you can have 2% fat dairies no problem. I really cannot give you some specific brands I'm sorry but I'm sure that with these recommendations you will find some suitable dairies. Have a nice evening and talk to you soon!
haltatx : I saw the use of onion (one per serving) in a recipe for the attack phase. Is is ok to have onion on PP days? (O, I hope so!! ha-ha)

sonja : Hi Idpavlop and welcome to the chat! Actually what you have to remember is that it's better to do one PV day instead of a PP if you have no choice, rather than doing a lapse. In any case do increase your physical activity and if you know that you cannot avoid a lapse then prefer a fruit rather than a chocolate cake for example. For your daily report, don't worry if you cannot fill it in, just do so when you come back and it will be fine. Enjoy your trip and we will see how things are after all of this don't worry. sonja : Hi Orkhan! I'm sorry but alcohol is not allowed at all during the first two phases of your diet. Be patient you will be able to have one glass of red wine during the celebration meal of your Consolidation phase. Keep going!
heartfelt : since I've got down to 60kg, I'm noticing my appetite increase - is this part of the body's attempt to counteract the weight loss...is this just something to work through with the pp and pv days?
sonja : Hi Heartfelt and congratulations on the weight you have already lost! This is because your body is over reacting so if you feel hungry have some allowed food and these effects should pass in a few days don't worry. Have a nice evening!

bettiblu : Hello. I am in the uk and have just realised that I have been eating a yoghurt that is 6% fat not 2%. A suggestion of a flavoured 0% yoghurt brand for the Attack phase would be great.

I cannot give you a specific brand but if you really cannot find some low fat flavoured yogurts try to add some sweetener, cinamon etc... To your plain ones and I'm sure you will enjoy!

sonja : Hi Saphena and welcome to the chat! Actually porridge oats is not the same as oat bran I'm sorry. If you don't like to have one egg in the morning what you can do is some oat bran porridge or to have a low fat yogurt with some oat bran. I enjoy smoked salmon in the morning or very low fat bacon rashes can be nice as well. If you like spicy food you can use all the spices you want during all of your diet, no problem. Bon appetit!

Can I compensate with more PP days and exercise? Also - I've plateau-ed despite much more exercise than advised and very minor lapses. Thanks
sonja : Hi again Bmaitra! During this meal try at least to eat as less fatty sugary and starchy food as possible. Then the next day do increase your physical activity and do not eat any tolerated at all for about two days. All of this will compensate the eventual lapse you are going to do. sturobinson : Im a bit dissapointed by my weight loss in the attack phase - in fact I put 2lb on in the first couple of days. I have been drinking a lot of water (2.5l/day) - is this too much? I find by drinking lots of water at work it removes the temptation to snack.
sonja : Hi Surobinson! Yes this is definitely due to the fact that you drink too much. You cannot drink more than 1.5 litres of fluids per day. Also to eliminate extra water from your body, do not eat any salty food and drink preferably water and green tea. If you want to snack do so but with some allowed food only. Keep going!
